THE ANNUAL OSUN OSOGBO FESTIVAL ENDS TODAY


The Osun Osogbo festival is one of the aspects of African cultural heritage that continues to this day. Last Friday, the Osun Osogbo festival culminated with thousands of people all over the world coming together in celebration.The two-week long festival is held every year in honour of the river Goddess Osun and Her relation to King Larooye, the founder of the Osun community. Some describe her as the spirit queen of Osogbo, Oso-igbo, and she is considered the Spiritual Mother of all the succeeding kings of Osogbo. Osun is considered as a Goddess of fertility, protection, and blessing. She is also attributed with healing the sick with her healing river waters.

THE LEGAL IMPLICATIONS OF A BIZARRE DEATH...a true life story.


On March 23rd 1994, the medical examiner viewed the body of Ronald Opus and concluded that he died from a shot gun wound on the head. Opus has jumped from the top of a ten-story building intending to commit suicide. He left a note to the effect indicating his despondency. As he fell past the 8th floor, his life was interrupted by a shotgun blast passing through a window which killed him instantly.

REMEMBERING DICK TYGER (RICHARD IHETU); ONE OF GREATEST AFRICAN BOXER AND PRIDE OF NIGERIA


Richard Ihetu also known as “Dick Tiger” was one of the greatest boxers ever to come out of Black Africa. Capturing both the World Middleweight and World Light-Heavyweight titles during his career, Ihetu won 60 out of 82 fights with 27 of them, via knock-out. 19 of his fights ended in losses and 3 in a draw.
